BMW has unveiled the iX4, a coupe-shaped electric SUV designed to compete against rising electric vehicle sales from Chinese manufacturers. The Verge and SlashGear both reported that the new model features a sportier design than the iX3 and uses BMW's Neue Klasse platform. The iX4 50 xDrive variant is scheduled to launch first in March 2027. [1][2]

The Verge and SlashGear both report that the vehicle relies on a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration across all trim levels. SlashGear reported that the SUV contains a 112.2 kilowatt-hour battery, which provides an estimated driving range of up to 428 miles on a single charge. [1][2]

The iX4 represents the third vehicle built on the Neue Klasse platform, following the releases of the i3 and iX3 models. The Verge reported that BMW plans to launch a higher-performance variant, the M60 xDrive, later in 2027. [1][2]
