Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials considered feeding state voter roll data into a software tool used to identify targets for deportation, Wired reported. Documents obtained by the legal advocacy group Democracy Forward through a Freedom of Information Act request show that the agency investigated using the ELITE tool to search for potential voter fraud. [1]

The released records show that Homeland Security Investigations, a major component of ICE, is leading federal efforts to uncover voter fraud. According to Wired, Department of Homeland Security officials have also investigated more than 150 non-profit organizations to determine if they were helping non-citizens register to vote. [1]

Palantir Technologies is a public American company founded in 2003 by Peter Thiel, Stephen Cohen, Joe Lonsdale, Alex Karp, and Nathan Gettings. The firm develops data integration and analytics software and is headquartered in Miami, Florida. [2]

In the United States, federal election crimes include voter fraud, campaign finance violations, and civil rights violations. Fraudulent activities can involve voter impersonation, absentee ballot fraud, double voting, or illegal voting by non-citizens. [3]
