Intel has sold out of its budget-focused Wildcat Lake laptop processors as demand exceeds available supply, The Verge reported. Chief Executive Officer Lip-Bu Tan stated during the company's latest earnings call that demand for the chips is outstripping supply. Chief Financial Officer David Zinsner confirmed that the processor line is currently sold out after seeing significant growth. [1]

According to The Verge, the rise in demand comes as shortages of RAM and other components have pushed up personal computer prices over recent months. Wildcat Lake processors are cost-optimized chips that are appearing in new lower-cost Windows laptops designed to compete with devices such as the MacBook Neo. David Zinsner noted that the growth in this segment arrived at the right time. Intel added that it does not expect the ongoing RAM shortage to end any time soon. [1]

Intel Corporation is an American multinational technology company based in Santa Clara, California. The firm designs and manufactures central processing units and related components for consumer and business markets. Intel pioneered dynamic random-access memory chips in 1970 and was the third-largest semiconductor manufacturer by revenue in 2024. [2][3]
