Intero Biosystems has won the Startup Battlefield Cup and a $100,000 grand prize at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 conference in San Francisco, TechCrunch reported. The company beat out 199 other competitors to secure the top award. [1]
The competition featured 20 eager startups selected from the broader Startup Battlefield 200 list to participate over three days, according to TechCrunch. Participants gave live product demonstrations directly in front of venture capitalists and tech leaders who judged the pitches. [1]
Following the live pitches, TechCrunch editors evaluated the judges notes to narrow the field down to five final companies, TechCrunch reported. NewsBytes and Mezha.net both reported earlier that five finalists were selected to compete for the cash prize. [1][2][3]
TechCrunch is an American online publication founded in June 2005 that focuses on technology news and startup businesses. AOL acquired the outlet in 2010 for approximately $25 million before Verizon Media later held ownership of the site from 2015 until 2021. [4]
