Meta is partnering with Walmart, Stripe, and enterprise artificial intelligence startup Sierra to publish safety standards for autonomous online transactions, Gizmodo reported. The proposed guidelines, called a personal agent protocol, aim to establish rules for how software agents interact with businesses online. [1]

According to Gizmodo, the new standards will help businesses verify authorized purchases made by personal software agents. Meta Superintelligence Labs vice president of engineering and consumer products, David Singleton, told CNBC that the initiative aims to create rails for future personal and business agents, comparing the framework to standard email protocols. The effort comes shortly after Meta launched its Muse agent less than a month ago, Gizmodo reported. Since its launch, the Muse agent has been linked to multiple security and privacy issues. [1]
