Artificial intelligence startup TypeSafe has raised 870 million dollars in a funding round that values the company at 7.5 billion dollars, TechCrunch and SiliconANGLE reported. The investment round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Sequoia Capital, DCVC, and unnamed angel investors. [1][2]

The funding comes less than a month after TypeSafe released its Jev artificial intelligence model on September 15. TechCrunch and SiliconANGLE both report that about one third of Fortune 500 companies have already adopted the new model. [1][2]

TypeSafe claims that Jev operates significantly faster and uses far fewer tokens than standard large language models, according to TechCrunch. TechCrunch also reported that while Jev is built on a transformer architecture, it is not a large language model. [1]
