Apple has announced its long-rumored foldable smartphone, named the iPhone Duo. The Verge reported the announcement, while Gizbot noted that pre-orders for the new device were set to go live. [1][3]

The Verge reported that the device features a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display with a nano-texture finish and barely any visible crease. The phone omits Face ID in favor of Touch ID built into the power button, and it includes two rear cameras consisting of a main lens and a wide-angle lens. [1]

Apple has updated its operating system to support the foldable form factor. According to the Verge, controls and applications on iOS 27 were completely revamped, placing the app dock on the side of the screen and adding an opening animation when the device is unfolded. [1]
