Samsung stated that interest in its foldable devices has surged following Apple's unveiling of the iPhone Duo, HardwareZone Singapore reported. The disclosure comes as rivals adjust to Apple's entry into the foldable market. [1]

The response follows Apple's unveiling of the iPhone Duo on September 9, 2026, at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, according to CNBC Tech. Pre-orders opened on October 16, 2026, Digital Trends reported, with delivery dates sliding into January within minutes or seconds, GSM Arena, Digital Trends, and 9to5Mac both confirm. To prevent scalpers from reselling units at inflated prices on platforms like eBay, Apple now limits purchases to two units per customer, GSM Arena, Digital Trends, and 9to5Mac all reported. Apple is also adding a United States titanium supplier for the iPhone Duo and expanding domestic production for camera parts, according to CNBC Tech. To counter Apple's momentum, 9to5Mac reported that Samsung is planning to launch six foldable phone models next year. As FTMQ Tech reported earlier, the iPhone Duo features a 5.4-inch outer screen and a 7.6-inch inner display. [4][6][14]

Demand for Apple's first foldable remains high as supply stays tight, CNBC Tech and Digital Trends reported. However, Tom's Guide noted that Apple plans to ship some units early to select pre-order customers. [3][4][5]
