Pre-orders for Apple's new foldable iPhone Duo opened on October 16, but shipping estimates quickly slipped into 2027, according to MacRumors, 9to5Mac, and The Verge. In a statement to the Financial Times, Apple said demand for the device has been nothing short of extraordinary, MacRumors and CNBC reported. [1][3][4][5][8][11]

Delivery times began slipping shortly after orders started. The Verge reported that estimates slipped into next year in less than an hour after pre-orders opened at 8 a.m. Eastern Time. MacRumors noted that pre-orders began at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, while GSM Arena said orders started at 12 p.m. UTC. Delivery dates on Apple's website shifted into late January, according to Bloomberg Tech and The Verge, while 9to5Mac reported that estimated deliveries in Brazil were pushed into early February. Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo last month alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, GSM Arena reported. While the Pro models went on sale earlier, the foldable Duo was scheduled to launch in physical stores on October 23, according to GSM Arena and The Verge. One report from 9to5Mac noted that the device carries a price tag over $2,000. [4][5][6]

Apple stated that it is working hard to get the new product into the hands of customers as quickly as possible, MacRumors reported. However, severe supply limitations mean many buyers will face long delays, 9to5Mac said. [1][4]
