Samsung plans to retain the same rear camera hardware for its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold9 and Galaxy Z Fold9 Ultra models, according to leaked details from Korean tipster Lanzuk. GSM Arena and Android Authority both reported that the leak indicates Samsung will maintain its existing rear camera setups for the book-style foldables. GSM Arena noted that the Galaxy Z Fold9 models may bring back an under-display camera, but that could mark the only camera update for the devices. [1][3]
Specific specifications for the higher-end model include a 200MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, alongside a 3x optical zoom sensor, GSM Arena reported. The outlet noted that the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra previously upgraded its ultra-wide module to a 50MP sensor from a 12MP sensor on the Z Fold7, while leaving the remaining modules unchanged. [1]
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 series consists of Android-based foldable smartphones that Samsung Electronics released on August 7, 2026, after unveiling the line on July 22, 2026. [12]
