Consulting firm McKinsey and Company will require select entry level job candidates to participate in a 10 minute conversation with an artificial intelligence client simulation during the interview process, The Verge reported, citing The Wall Street Journal. The initial testing targets undergraduate applicants applying for business analyst positions. [1]

The artificial intelligence tool is intended to reflect 80 percent of the scenarios that consultants encounter in their routine work, according to The Wall Street Journal. The simulation is structured so that it does not imitate an unhinged client. [1]

Human evaluators will remain in the room during the interview to grade the applicants, The Verge reported. The artificial intelligence system itself will not score the candidates, but human assessors will judge how effectively candidates handle the simulated client interactions. [1]
