Apple has launched its first touchscreen MacBook Pro after long-standing resistance to the technology, Bloomberg Tech reported. News.lavx.hu reported that the laptop features a PROLED XDR display and software updates in macOS 27 designed for touch interaction. The release comes after Apple was expected to introduce 14-inch and 16-inch laptops with touch-enabled OLED screens, as FTMQ Tech reported earlier. [1][4][9][11]

The new professional laptops are available with two processor options. According to Tom's Guide, the OLED MacBook Pros launch with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Tom's Guide also reported that Apple redesigned the laptop's thermal system, which allows the processors to sustain performance within a lighter chassis. [3]

Apple also introduced a new entry-level MacBook Pro equipped with an M6 processor, Digital Trends and Tom's Guide reported. Digital Trends noted that the entry-level model includes a longer battery life and a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera system alongside the chip upgrade. [5][6]

Apple is already planning second-generation OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models for next year, according to Digital Trends. Those future models are expected to feature M7 Pro and M7 Max processors with new hardware capabilities for artificial intelligence. [2]
