Nothing has started rolling out the stable Nothing OS 5.0 update, based on Android 17, to four additional smartphone models. GSM Arena, 9to5Google, and Android Central report that the software is now arriving on the Nothing Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro, Phone (3a), and Phone (3a) Pro. Android Authority reports that the update arrived early for these devices. [1][8][9][10]

The release follows the stable Android 17 update deployed to the flagship Nothing Phone (3) earlier in October, GSM Arena reported. According to GSM Arena, the software distribution is staggered, meaning available release dates will vary by user. Device owners can manually check for the upgrade inside system settings, though GSM Arena recommends backing up personal data first. [1]

Nothing Technology Limited is a British consumer electronics maker headquartered in London. The manufacturer was co-founded in 2020 by Carl Pei alongside Akis Evangelidis, David Sanmartín García, Steven Gao, and Levi Li to design smartphones and software. [12]

The software update brings Google's Android 17 operating system features to more mid-range hardware in Nothing's lineup. Android Central notes that the release arrives as planned, expanding access across both the older 3a series and the newer 4a series. [8][9][10]
