WhatsApp has expanded testing of a scheduled message feature to select iOS users, GSM Arena reported. The functionality is rolling out to participants using the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 26.42.10.19 through TestFlight, with broader availability planned over the coming weeks. [1]

The feature allows users to compose a text and set it to send at a later time. GSM Arena reported that the iOS version works identically to the Android implementation, which was rolled out to beta testers last week after being in development since at least February. [1]

WhatsApp is an instant messaging and voice service owned by Meta Platforms that was launched in May 2009. The platform required a mobile phone number for account registration and reached 3 billion monthly active users as of May 2025. [2][3]

Testing for the feature remains limited to beta participants on both mobile operating systems. The messaging service has not yet announced a timeline for when scheduled messages will become available to all standard users. [1]
